2929 Smiting Bolt summons a spear of light that descends from above rather than traveling on a flat trajectory. Because the spear comes down vertically, it can strike targets behind low cover as long as Damiane has line of sight to the area above the enemy. This is the best way to punish archers and mages who try to hide behind crates, walls, or rocks at midrange.

3131 The descent is slow enough that agile enemies can sidestep the spear before impact. Upgrade to Lv 3 for Smiting Bolt Sure Hit if you plan to use Smiting Bolt against evasive bosses. Until then, combine it with a grouping tool such as Storm Pillar so that multiple enemies are hit by the area of impact even if one of them dodges.
