Each petting action grants +5 Trust, and you can pet up to five times per in-game day for a maximum of +25 Trust from petting alone. Drop fish, bird meat, or milk from your inventory near the cat to feed it. Cats refuse regular red meat. Short-Haired Cats prefer Eggs as their favorite food.
