When the hat is worn by the player, small birds that would normally alight on the player's shoulder or hand will instead settle directly on the flower-decorated crown of the hat, producing a visibly different pose for bird-focused builds.

Larger flying companions such as the Phoenix, tamed through the Sighting of the Phoenix chain, continue to roost on the player's arm rather than on the hat, because the hat is simply too small a platform to support them.

The bird lands on the hat instead of on the shoulder, producing a distinctive silhouette that plays well with cloth armor sets.Do not expect the perching change to apply to the Phoenix.
