11Overview2233The Moon Cat is a cat pet in Crimson Desert. It is found across most regions of Pywel, excluding the arid Crimson Desert biome. Like all pets, the Moon Cat is obtained by raising its trust to 100 through picking up and petting, then feeding. Once registered, the Moon Cat follows Kliff on adventures and automatically collects loot dropped by defeated enemies and resources from the environment.4455The Moon Cat is one of several cat breeds available as pets in Crimson Desert, alongside the Pororin Cat, Fat Cat, and Longleaf Forest Cat. Like all cats, the Moon Cat requires a different taming approach compared to dogs: players must physically pick the cat up before they can pet it, and cats only accept bird meat, fish, dried fish, or milk as food.6677Pet Details88991010DetailInfoTypeCat (Pet Companion)Trust Required100LocationAll regions except the Crimson Desert biomePreferred FoodBird Meat, Fish, Dried Fish, MilkDaily Trust from Petting+25 (5 per pet, max 5 times per day)Daily Trust from FeedingVaries by food quality (max 3 feeds per day)Primary AbilityAuto-loot and resource pickup1111How to Tame12121313Taming a cat in Crimson Desert differs slightly from taming dogs:14141515Locate the cat in the overworld. Cats are found in settlements, particularly around food stalls and sheltered areas.Approach the cat and hold the interaction button to pick it up. You must carry the cat in your arms before you can pet it.While holding the cat, press the pet button to stroke it. Each petting interaction grants +5 trust, up to 5 times per day (+25 total).Drop food near the cat. Cats refuse standard red meat and only accept bird meat, fish, dried fish, or milk.Feeding a cat grants less trust per food item compared to dogs (around +10 per feeding). Feed up to 3 times per day.Repeat petting and feeding across multiple in-game days until trust reaches 100.Once at maximum trust, interact with the cat and select "Take In" to permanently register it.16161717Cats are significantly harder to tame than dogs because they accept fewer food types and each feeding provides less trust. Expect the process to take more in-game days compared to dog taming.18181919Locations20202121Moon Cats can be found in settlements across Pywel's temperate and northern regions. They do not appear in the arid Crimson Desert biome:22222323Moon Cats have been reported in towns and villages throughout Hernand and Pailune.Cats tend to spawn near food stalls, sheltered alleyways, and quieter corners of settlements.Cat spawns rotate based on time of day. Visit settlements at different hours to increase your chances of finding a Moon Cat.If a Moon Cat is not present, leave the area's render distance and return to re-roll the animal spawns in that zone.24242525Comparison to Other Cats26262727Crimson Desert features several cat breeds, each found in different areas. All cats share the same abilities (auto-loot and resource collection) and taming mechanics. The differences are purely visual:28282929Moon Cat: Found across most regions except the Crimson Desert.Pororin Cat: Common breed found in most regions. Pororin Village has a high concentration.Fat Cat: A plump variant of the Pororin Cat found near the Naz River and Hernand.Longleaf Forest Cat: Found in forested areas.30303131Tips32323333Once registered, summon the Moon Cat from the Pets tab in the inventory menu. Only one pet can be active at a time.Pets automatically pick up loot from defeated enemies and gather resources in the environment, saving time during exploration and combat.Pet Armor can be equipped on the Moon Cat for cosmetic changes. Pet armor is purely visual and provides no stat bonuses. You can register up to 30 pets total. If you reach the cap, you must release an existing pet before adopting a new one.Cats are significantly harder to tame than dogs due to lower trust gains per feeding and restricted food types. Stock up on bird meat or fish before beginning the process. In crowded villages, NPCs or other animals may steal the food you drop before the cat gets to it. Choose a quiet spot away from foot traffic.
