11Overview22Lion Crest Manor (also written as Lioncrest Manor) is a large estate located on the western side of the City of Hernand, sitting on a hill up a sloping path from the main town. The manor is one of the richest treasure locations available in the early game, housing multiple valuable items across its two floors and an adjacent guest house. Players can find the Engraved Gold Earring inside a puzzle strongbox, a hidden Gold Bar beneath the fireplace, the Ronid Large Shield behind a locked door, and the Brass Warden's Plate Gloves in a ground floor bedroom. The guest house next door holds the Hwando, a two-handed katana widely considered one of the best early-game weapons in Crimson Desert.44The manor is also tied to the side quest Bruna's Request, which sends players to Lioncrest Manor as the final step of a chain that starts at Hernand's notice board. Completing the quest rewards the Medium Bag, which grants three extra inventory slots.77Location99Lion Crest Manor sits on the northwestern edge of the City of Hernand, up a sloped path west of the main settlement. The estate consists of the main manor building and a smaller guest house to its left. The front entrance is guarded, and attempting to walk through the main door will result in Kliff being turned away. Players who have not built enough reputation in Hernand will find the guards uncooperative, making the climbing route the primary method of entry.1111A notable landmark nearby is the sloping road that leads up from the center of town. The manor is visible from several vantage points in Hernand, making it easy to spot on the map even before receiving any quests that direct you there.1313How to Enter1515Since the front door is off limits, entry requires climbing the exterior of the building and slipping through a second-floor window. This method does not count as trespassing in the game's crime system, so Kliff will not receive a bounty or crime flag for entering this way.1717The easiest way to enter through the front door is by speaking to Baron Alfonso and accepting his quest, which grants you legitimate access to the manor. If you do not have this quest available, you can sneak in instead. Approach from the side or rear of the building and look for unguarded windows or doors. Nighttime is the safest time to attempt a break-in since fewer guards patrol the perimeter.1919Main Manor2121Walk around to the side or back of the main building. Look for a climbable wall section to the right of the rear door.Climb up to the second floor. It contains the Engraved Gold Earring, an accessory that provides +1 Defense and +1 Movement Speed. Once upgraded, it also grants 2 HP regeneration per second, making it valuable well beyond the early game.3939Solution4141The puzzle displays a fragmented image of a fairy, split into nine square tiles arranged in a grid. Each tile can be rotated independently. The goal is to turn every tile until the full image lines up correctly. This is one of the simpler strongbox puzzles in the game, as each piece only needs to be rotated to the correct orientation. There is no sliding or swapping involved.4343Note that the starting orientation of each tile is randomized for every player, so there is no single fixed solution. Simply rotate each square until the fairy image is complete.4545Gold Bar in the Fireplace4747One of the manor's most valuable secrets is a Gold Bar hidden beneath the fireplace on the ground floor. To retrieve it, Kliff must be wearing a Mask. With the Mask equipped, approach the fireplace and hold the inspection button (Ctrl on keyboard, L1/LB on controller). A "Steal" prompt will appear. Select it, and Kliff will search around the fireplace for a few seconds before pulling out a Gold Bar.4949Selling vs. Banking5151Do not sell the Gold Bar to a regular vendor. Vendors only pay 190 Silver for it. Instead, take the Gold Bar to the Bank of Hernand in town and convert it into 500 Silver, nearly three times the vendor price. The bank also offers investment options (Low-Risk, Medium-Risk, and High-Risk) that can grow your deposits over time.5353The Gold Bar under the Lioncrest Manor fireplace respawns every three days, making it a renewable source of early-game income. Returning periodically to collect and bank the Gold Bar is an efficient way to fund equipment upgrades.5555The gold bar in the fireplace regenerates over time, so this is not a one-time find. You can return after a period and steal it again, making the manor a repeatable source of gold bars. Shut off the fireplace first, equip your mask, and grab it. Make sure no one in the room sees you, or you will be reported and gain a bounty. The theft is best attempted at night when fewer NPCs are wandering the halls.5757Locked Rooms and Treasure Chests5959Two of the treasure chests in the manor complex are behind locked doors that require a Key to open. Keys can be obtained in several ways:6161Farming bandits: Bandits outside the city occasionally drop Keys when defeated.Back Alley Shop: The underground vendor in Hernand sells Keys for 30 Silver Coins.Grimrack: This merchant also sells Keys (30 Silver Coins) along with Masks (10 Coins).6363The Ronid Large Shield is found in the locked room on the western side of the manor's second floor. The Hwando katana is behind the locked door on the second floor of the guest house. Both chests require one Key each.6565Masks and Stealing6868A Mask is required to perform steal actions inside the manor. The Gold Bar hidden in the fireplace and any other steal-tagged interactions will not appear without one. Masks can be obtained by farming bandits in the area surrounding Hernand, purchased from Back Alley Shops for a small number of coins, or bought from merchants like Grimrack. Make sure to equip the Mask in your inventory before attempting to steal.7070Getting caught stealing triggers the wanted system and reduces your Hernandian Contribution reputation. However, the Gold Bar's value far outweighs the cost of paying off any fines, so the risk is generally worth taking.7272You can theoretically double dip during a visit by combining the fireplace gold bar theft with pickpocketing the nobles inside the manor. Several wealthy NPCs wander the halls and rooms, and some may carry gold bars, jewelry, or other valuables. Equip your mask and scan the room with a lantern to identify which NPCs have the best items before committing to a theft.7474The Guest House and the Hwando7676The guest house is a smaller building adjacent to the main manor. Entry follows the same pattern: climb to a second-floor window and enter from above. Inside, a locked door on the second floor leads to a treasure chest containing the Hwando, a two-handed katana with 19 Attack, Critical Rate 1, Stamina Siphon Lv1, and an Attack 1 bonus. Fully upgraded, the Hwando can reach 44 Attack.7878The Hwando is widely considered one of the most powerful weapons available in the early chapters of the game. Its combination of high base damage and built-in Abyss Gears makes it a significant upgrade over anything most players will have found through normal progression at that point. The Stamina Siphon effect is particularly useful, as it allows Kliff to recover stamina with each hit, extending the number of attacks he can chain together before needing to rest.8080The treasure chest also contains a Refined Palmar Pill, a consumable healing item.8282Bruna's Request8484Lion Crest Manor is the final destination in the Bruna's Request side quest, a faction quest that begins at the notice board in the City of Hernand. The trust meter for this NPC fills in only a few seconds.The Legendary Hunter passes you the location of a lion boss tied to the Legendary Animals tracker.3Defeat the lion boss at the marked location to close out the Legendary Hunter quest line.Rewards include a high-tier earring and a full armor set, plus the unlock for the next quest stage in House Celeste.109109Downstream Unlocks110110Completing the Legendary Hunter line opens the Elder Tree quest line inside the House Celeste faction track. That chain points northwest of Castle Hernand into the mountains south of Sage's Peak, where the boss Gwen Kraber guards a clearing. Defeating Gwen Kraber drops the Icewing Plate Armor, which ships with the Shattering Frost abyss core pre-socketed. Lion Crest Manor is therefore the gateway location for a frost-build endgame chain that runs Legendary Hunter -> Elder Tree -> Gwen Kraber.112112If you are routing this for a frost build, plan the manor visit so the three prerequisite faction quests are already complete before you arrive. That collapses the entire chain into one trip: enter the manor for the early-game loot covered above, speak to the trigger NPC on your way back out, and proceed straight into Legendary Hunter without backtracking.114114Tips116116Visit Lion Crest Manor as early as possible. The items inside provide a significant power spike that makes the rest of the early game considerably easier.Bring at least two Keys before entering. One is needed for the Ronid Large Shield room in the main manor, and the other for the Hwando chest in the guest house.Buy a Mask before your visit if you do not already have one. The Gold Bar under the fireplace requires it, and the bar alone is worth the investment.Always bank your Gold Bars instead of selling them to vendors. The bank pays 500 Silver compared to the vendor's 190 Silver.The Gold Bar in the fireplace respawns every three days. Mark the manor on your map and return periodically for easy income.Entering through the window is not considered a crime. You will not receive any bounty or reputation penalty for using the climbing route.While inside the manor, loot everything you can. Even the items that are not highlighted in guides (loose ingredients, minor valuables) add up over time.Complete Bruna's Request during your visit for the extra inventory slots.
