11Overview22334455Kuku Rocket Pack is a Rare pack in Crimson Desert. A specialized flight tool crafted from a modified kuku pack. It glides through the air using propulsion from nozzles connected to the pack, powered by burning fuel stored in an iron pot. However, due to its heavy recoil and a design tailored specifically for orcs, it would likely be difficult for any of the Greymanes to use, except for Oongka.6677Stats8899PropertyValueGradeRareTypePackPrice1 Silver1010How to Unlock11111212The recipe for the Kuku Rocket Pack is one of the later unlocks in the Kuku crafting progression. It cannot be obtained until after clearing Chapter 7 (Homecoming) of the main questline, and in some cases not until Chapter 8. The crafting line also appears to be gated behind rebuilding Pailune through its Dispatch Missions, so players who have rushed the story without investing in the city may need to catch up on that infrastructure first.13131414Once those gates are clear, the recipe itself is unlocked through a short Pailune Militia Faction Quest called The Giant's Leap. If the quest marker does not appear on the map when it should, look around Pailune City for Grimnir's assistant. Speaking with the assistant is the usual trigger that makes the quest start on a stuck save.15151616How to Craft17171818Completing The Giant's Leap both grants the recipe and lets the player craft the pack as part of the quest's payoff. Crafting is done at the Kilnden Workshop by talking to Grimnir and selecting the Kuku Pot crafting service, the same interface used for every other Kuku item.19192020The Kuku Rocket Pack is built on top of a base Kuku Pack and requires the mechanical components that drive most late-game Kuku gear (Gears, Small Batteries, Lubricant, and Electrical Components sealed with Axiom Force). These parts are gathered by defeating mech enemies in Delesyia or by running the relevant Dispatch Missions once Delesyia has been liberated.21212222How to Use23232424The Kuku Rocket Pack is designed specifically for orc physiology. Because of its heavy recoil it cannot be worn by Kliff or Damianne, so after crafting it the player has to switch over to Oongka and equip the pack from his inventory. In the current version of the game, Oongka himself is not playable until the entire main questline has been completed through the end of Chapter 12, so the pack effectively becomes usable as part of post-game and free-roam content.25252626Once equipped, the pack uses fuel stored in its iron pot and fires through a set of nozzles to push Oongka forward and up. On its own it already fills the role that replenishing arrows play for Cliff and replenishing bullets play for Damianne: a traversal tool that recharges as you explore rather than a one-shot consumable.27272828Synergy with Vertical Flight29293030The Rocket Pack is one half of a two-part unlock. The other half is a research project in the Zargan Tank Works institute, inside the Weapon Heat-Treatment Research and Power Joint System Research areas. Completing that research path unlocks the Vertical Flight skill on Oongka, assuming the Rocket Pack has already been crafted and equipped.31313232With Vertical Flight active, Oongka has by far the strongest air traversal of the three Greymanes. The only real constraint is fuel, which Oongka refills from Delesyian Wine. With a steady supply of wine on hand, the flight distance is functionally unlimited, which makes the Rocket Pack the single best tool in the game for fast point-to-point travel and for reaching rooftops, ledges, and mountain shrines that ordinary climbing cannot handle.33333434Tips35353636Finish the four Pailune Militia quest branches before trying to start The Giant's Leap. The prerequisite chain is not obvious in-game and the quest often refuses to appear until earlier militia favors are cleared.Do the Zargan Tank Works research chain on the same play session that you craft the pack. Having the Rocket Pack without Vertical Flight is usable but underwhelming; the two together are what turn Oongka into the fastest traveler in the party.Stockpile Delesyian Wine before long expeditions. The wine is the recharge item for Oongka's flight fuel, and running out mid-flight drops you back into normal movement.Keep the basic Kuku Pack in storage even after upgrading. Some recipes and mission dispatches still expect the plain pack as a material, and it is also the pack that lets you scoop up Clockwork Insects. The Rocket Pack is an Oongka-only item in practice. There is no need to craft more than one copy; extra mechanical components are better spent on the Kuku Spear line, the A.T.A.G. thruster upgrades, or the other Kuku packs.37373838See Also39394040Tools - All tools in Crimson DesertEquipment - Full equipment guideGathering - Resource gathering guideRefinement System - How to upgrade equipment
