11Overview2233Crimson Desert offers several ways to sell animals for profit. Players can sell tamed horses at stables throughout Pywel, offload stolen livestock at the Livestock Black Market, and sell ranch animals to Bram at the Greymane Camp ranch. Each method has different requirements, locations, and payouts. This guide covers every avenue for turning animals into silver.4455Selling Horses at Stables667788The most straightforward way to sell a horse is through any Stable in a town or settlement. Stables are found across Pywel, with the earliest accessible one located northwest of the City of Hernand. To sell a horse:991010Visit any Stable and speak to the stable master.Select Use Stable, then choose Manage Horses.Select the horse you want to sell from your roster.Press the Sell button to confirm the transaction.11111212The sale price depends on the horse's breed and stats. Common wild horses sell for copper, while rarer breeds with higher stat distributions sell for silver. Legendary horses fetch significantly higher prices than standard mounts, but selling them is permanent. You cannot buy back a horse once it has been sold at a stable.13131414Taming wild horses specifically to sell them is a viable early-game income strategy. Wild horses roam throughout Pywel, particularly near rivers east and south of Hernand. Tame them using the horse taming minigame, ride them to the nearest stable, and sell them. Each taming attempt costs nothing but time, making this a zero-investment method.15151616Selling Horses at the Horse Fence17171818The Horse Fence is an illegal buyer that purchases horses at a higher price than stables and sometimes includes bonus items as part of the deal. Like other criminal activities in Crimson Desert, selling to the Horse Fence requires you to have a criminal mask equipped.19192020The Horse Fence operates outside the law, so transactions do not reduce your horse roster through the normal stable management screen. Instead, you physically bring the horse to the fence location and complete the sale through a separate interaction. Because the Horse Fence pays more than legitimate stables, it is the preferred option for players who do not mind the Contribution penalty that comes with criminal activity.21212222Selling Stolen Livestock at the Livestock Black Market23232424The Livestock Black Market is one of two types of criminal fences in Crimson Desert (the other being the underground shop for stolen items). It is the only place where you can sell stolen farm animals for profit.25252626How Livestock Poaching Works27272828To poach and sell livestock, you need to follow these steps:29293030Equip a mask. You can buy one from any Back Alley Shop for 10 copper coins. The earliest Back Alley Shop is southeast of the Church of Hernand, near the mill.Approach a farm animal such as a sheep, pig, or goat. Press the interaction button to pick it up. Kliff physically carries the animal on his shoulders.Mount your horse while carrying the animal. You can ride with the livestock on your back.Travel to the nearest Livestock Black Market and sell the animal to the fence operator.31313232Poaching livestock is considered a crime. Each theft costs -5 Contribution EXP in the local region, regardless of whether you are seen. If an NPC witnesses the act, you also receive a bounty. See the Crime System article for details on bounties and how to clear them.33333434Livestock Black Market Locations35353636Livestock Black Markets are marked on the map with a red icon, similar to other fence locations. In the Hernand region, the following locations are confirmed:37373838LocationDirectionsEast of HernandHead east out of the City of Hernand, past the model castle on your left. Turn left down the road and follow the track. The Livestock Black Market sits on the west side of the river, next to a Back Alley Shop.Southern Hernand (windmill)Look for the windmill in the southern part of Hernand. Fences operate near the windmill and handle both stolen items and livestock.3939Additional Livestock Black Markets may appear in other regions as you progress through the main story. Check your map for the red fence icon whenever you enter a new area.40404141Selling Animals at the Camp Ranch42424343Once you unlock the ranch at the Greymane Camp through the Grounds of the Sunrise questline, you can sell livestock directly to Bram, the NPC who manages the camp ranch. This is a legal transaction and does not incur any Contribution penalty.44444545Unlocking the Ranch46464747The camp ranch becomes available during the Housing and Farming progression:48484949Complete the A Rumor in Goldleaf Trading Post quest and meet the NPC named Ben.Dispatch the Milk Harvest Mission to Bloomwood Ranch.Dispatch another mission to Howling Hill to build the ranch facility.Complete Ben's Request mission, which teaches ranch basics: catching wild goats, registering livestock, and slaughtering animals for meat.50505151Selling to Bram52525353After the ranch is built, speak to Bram at the camp ranch and select the option to sell animals from your livestock roster. You can sell goats, pigs, sheep, and other animals you have registered at the ranch.54545555Selling goats to Bram is also required for the The Herder's Lament Sealed Abyss Artifact challenge, which asks you to sell 3 goats to Bram at the Camp Ranch. The artifact for this challenge is located on the side of the road northwest of the Torchlight Beacon.56565757Selling Methods Comparison58585959MethodWhat You Can SellLegal?NotesStable (Manage Horses)Tamed horsesYesPrice varies by breed and stats. Hunting wild animals and skinning them yields meat, hides, and other materials that can be sold to vendors or used for cooking and crafting. Ranch animals also produce ongoing resources:63636464AnimalProductsGoatsMilk, meatPigs (Hogs)Meat for cookingCows (Cattle)Tender meatSheepMeat, hides for craftingChickensBird meat6565In many cases, keeping an animal alive at the ranch and harvesting its products over time generates more total value than selling it outright. Goats, for example, produce milk repeatedly, while selling one yields a one-time payout. Consider your current needs before choosing to sell.66666767Tips68686969Tame wild horses near the rivers east and south of Hernand, then ride them to the nearest stable to sell. This is a zero-cost income method available early in the game.If you plan to sell horses frequently, the Horse Fence pays better than regular stables. Keep a mask in your inventory so you can access it at any time. The Livestock Black Market only accepts stolen farm animals. You cannot sell wild game, hunted pelts, or horse carcasses there. For hunted materials, use a regular merchant.Selling 3 goats to Bram completes The Herder's Lament challenge and unlocks a Sealed Abyss Artifact. If you need the artifact, catch wild goats before selling them.Bounties from poaching livestock are regional. If you steal animals near Hernand, your reputation in Demeniss and other regions stays clean. Before selling a valuable horse, check its stats. Horses with high Speed or Stamina are harder to replace through taming and may be worth keeping.Carrying a stolen animal on horseback does not slow your mount significantly, but you cannot fight while holding livestock. Plan a clear route to the fence to avoid hostile encounters along the way.70707171See Also72727373ArticleDescriptionHorse TamingHow to tame wild horses, including the minigame mechanics and tipsHorse GuideComplete horse management, stats, equipment, and mounted combatHousing and FarmingUnlocking and managing the camp ranch and farmHow to Make Money Fast and EarlyAll money-making methods in Crimson DesertHow to Steal ItemsTheft mechanics, masks, and selling stolen goodsCrime SystemBounties, wanted levels, Contribution penalties, and how to clear themVendorsWhere to buy and sell goods across PywelSealed Abyss ArtifactsAll artifact challenges, including The Herder's Lament
