11Overview223+4+35The Herspia is the first horse breed that players obtain in Crimson Desert. Kliff receives a Herspia during the prologue mission Unknown Space, making it the default mount for the early hours of the game. According to its in-game Knowledge entry, the Herspia is described as a horse that is highly sensitive and easily startled by small changes, but remains loyal and quickly regains composure when its master is near.4657While the Herspia does not excel in any particular stat and has no unique skill, it provides solid all-around performance for basic exploration and travel. It is a permanent mount, meaning it can be summoned at any time through the mount menu. Herspia horses have the greatest number of unique coat appearances among all breeds, making them the most visually diverse horse in the game.6879Because it is the first mount most players level up, the Herspia often remains a go-to option well into the mid-game simply because of accumulated experience and unlocked skills. Herspia horses can also be found roaming in the wild across multiple regions, purchased from stables for silver, or stolen from NPCs who ride them.810911Base Stats10121113Herspia has the following base stats at Level 1. All stats are average across the board, with no standout strengths or weaknesses. This makes the Herspia a jack-of-all-trades mount that performs adequately in every situation without specializing in any one area.12141315StatValueHealth350Stamina180Attack7Evade35Movement Speed1Attack Speed1Climb Speed Multiplier1Swim Speed Multiplier1Seats41416Level Progression15171618The table below shows the full stat growth from Level 1 through Level 5. During the mission "New Journey", Kliff rides the Herspia to the City of Hernand, and the horse becomes permanently registered to the player from that point on.29313032Wild Taming31333234Wild Herspia horses spawn across multiple regions of Pywel. They are the most common wild horse breed in the game. To tame one, approach the horse from behind while it is unaware. If a wild horse spots you approaching head-on, it will bolt. You can also lure horses by carrying treats (hay, carrots, sugar beets, or sugar cubes) purchased from any Saddlery merchant. Drop the food near the horse using the "Take Out" option, and it will come to eat instead of running.33353436Once you mount the horse, the taming minigame begins. The easiest method is to keep the camera fixed directly behind the horse and hold back on the left stick (controller) or S (keyboard). As the horse spins around, keep adjusting the camera to stay behind its tail while moving the opposite direction it faces. Your stamina drains during the minigame. If it hits zero, the horse bucks you off. The horse usually pauses briefly before fleeing after a failed attempt, giving you a chance to remount and try again.35373638Stable Purchase37393840Stables in major settlements occasionally stock Herspia horses for purchase with silver. This method skips the taming minigame entirely, though the horse starts at Trust Level 1 regardless of purchase method. Check stables near Hernand and the Royal Trading Post for available stock.39414042Theft41434244NPCs and bandits throughout Pywel ride Herspia horses. Players can steal a mounted Herspia by equipping a mask and interacting with the NPC's horse. Stealing counts as a criminal act and increases your bounty.43454446Variants45474648The Herspia breed has several specialized variants used for different purposes. These variants share the base Herspia stats and level progression but serve specific roles in trade and transport.47494850VariantRoleHerspia PackhorseCargo transport variant with additional carrying capacityHerspia Wagon HorseWagon-pulling variant used with trade and transport wagonsHerspia Trade Goods PackhorseSpecialized trade goods transport variantHernandian WarhorseMilitary variant used by the Hernandian armyDelesyian WarhorseMilitary variant used by the Delesyian forcesDemenissian War HorseMilitary variant used by the Demenissian forces4951Comparison to Other Breeds50525153The Herspia has average stats across the board when compared to other horse breeds. It is outclassed in speed by Brianto, in jump power by Priden, in health and stamina by Elantrima, and in attack and acceleration by Numont. Every other standard breed has a unique signature skill, while the Herspia does not. The three legendary horses (Royler, Rokade, and Camora) surpass the Herspia in every category. However, because the Herspia is obtained so early, most players have it at a higher Trust level than any horse they acquire later, which partially offsets its lower base stats.52545355Leveling Tips54565557Level up the Herspia early by riding it frequently between locations rather than using fast travel.Feeding is the fastest way to build Trust. Give your horse hay, sugar beets, oats, or apples while riding.Caress your horse (target it and press R) for free experience at no resource cost. This has a daily cap.Equip horseshoes and a saddle from the starting area to boost performance. The Herspia remains useful even after obtaining better horses, because its accumulated skill unlocks (Dash, Sprint, Double Jump) give it an edge over a freshly tamed higher-tier breed at Trust Level 1.If you want a direct upgrade, seek out the legendary horses (Royler, Rokade, Camora) which are available once you know their locations.56585759Horse Challenges58605961The Herspia is the starter horse but is not one of the four tamable breeds required for the Harmonious Hooves challenge (#7). That challenge requires riding Brianto, Priden, Elantrima, and Numont for at least 100 meters each.
