11Overview223+34Crimson Desert Enhanced is a free update to the base game, released on August 25, 2026 as version 2.00.00. Pearl Abyss described it as the point where "Crimson Desert is becoming Crimson Desert Enhanced," folding every post-launch update released to that date into a single refreshed version of the game. It is not a separate product or a paid edition: every existing owner receives it automatically by updating to version 2.00.00 on any supported platform.4556The update centres on three areas. It expands the main story with new cutscenes and story moments, it widens language support with five new voice languages and one new interface language, and it reworks how skills are learned by introducing a new resource called Abyss Link. The skill rework is the change with the widest practical impact, because it resets every character's skill progression once when the update is first launched.6778Release Details89910PropertyDetailVersion2.00.00Release dateAugust 25, 2026CostFree for all base game ownersPlatformsRolling out across all platforms. Boss encounters in particular were given more narrative context: the update added knowledge entries, items, memory fragments, dialogue lines and conversations specifically to strengthen the storytelling around bosses.13141415The user interface for main quests was also improved as part of the same pass. Players who have already finished the campaign will encounter the new material on a replay, while players starting fresh see it in sequence.15161617New cutscenes and story moments added throughout the main questline.Improved narrative flow for the main story.Boss narrative depth: new knowledge, items, memory fragments, dialogue lines and conversations.Main quest UI improvements.17181819New Language Support19202021Crimson Desert Enhanced added five new voice languages and one new game language. The game language addition covers interface and subtitles; the voice additions are full spoken dubs.21222223TypeLanguages AddedVoiceGerman, French, Spanish, Japanese, Brazilian PortugueseInterface and subtitlesArabic2324The new languages only become available once the game is updated to version 2.00.00. On Steam the language data is downloaded through the game's Properties panel, after which the preferred game and voice language are selected in game under Menu, then Others, then Settings, then Language and Audio. For the full language table, see Supported Languages and Localization.24252526Skill System Rework26272728The most consequential change in the update is a rebuild of how skills are learned and reset. Before version 2.00.00, resetting skills reset every playable character at once. Enhanced makes skill progression per character, and introduces Abyss Link as the resource that makes that possible.28292930Abyss Link added. When a character spends Abyss Artifacts to learn a skill, an equivalent number of Abyss Links is granted to the other playable characters.Per-character resets. Skill progression can be reset individually for each character instead of being reset for all characters at once.Per-character spending. Each character uses their own Abyss Links to learn skills.Refunds on reset. When a character's skill progression is reset, the Abyss Links that character used are refunded.One-time global reset. Because Abyss Link was added, all existing skill progression is reset the first time the game is launched after the update. Every resource previously spent on learning skills, including Abyss Artifacts, is refunded.30313132The one-time reset applies to every save. Anyone returning to an existing playthrough should expect to reallocate their skill trees before playing, and should not treat a blank skill tree as lost progress. See How to Respec Skills for the current reset procedure.32333334New Skills for Kliff34353536The update added eight new skills for Kliff. They become available after reaching a certain point in the main story rather than being unlocked immediately. See Kliff Skills for the full skill list.36373738Carrying Progress into a New Game38393940Enhanced added the ability to carry Abyss Links and other in-game currency from an existing save file when starting a new game. The feature unlocks after completing all main quests. This is a currency carry-over rather than a full second-cycle mode; for the wider picture and what remains unconfirmed, see New Game Plus.40414142Other Gameplay Changes42434344AreaChangeControlsAdded the Flying Mount Controls option under Others, then Input. "Camera" makes flying mounts move in the direction the camera faces; "Manual" decouples them from the camera and uses separate inputs to ascend and descend.CombatReduced the damage received by characters accompanying the player.CombatBilwise now rewards Double Jump during the quest Unexpected Gift.BossesThe battle against Golden Star was separated into distinct phases, with phase-specific attack patterns added.CampDemenissian Chainsaws can now be donated as camp weapons.CraftingFixed items not being crafted properly at the Kilnden Workshop.MountsBlackstar can no longer be ridden without a cooldown in the situations where that was possible.4445Reception45464647The update arrived the day after Crimson Desert was announced as a nominee for Best PC Game and Most Epic at the 2026 gamescom Awards, and alongside the game's first discount since launch.47484849See Also49505051Patch NotesAbyss LinkSkillsKliff SkillsHow to Respec SkillsSupported Languages and LocalizationNew Game Plus
