1414 Core of Temperance is earned from the Sanctum of Temperance as the reward for completing the sanctum's Cleansing puzzle. This is not the same as simple liberation. Liberating the sanctum only restores it by placing the pillar tops and activating the generator. To actually obtain the Core of Temperance, you must trigger the second cleansing phase that is unlocked after liberation.

1818 Once the Sanctum of Temperance is liberated, check the top of the central generator for a small floating antenna above the refracting gem. If the antenna is present, the cleansing phase is still available. Draw Blinding Flash, aim at the refracting gem, and press Focus Light (LB on controller or Control on PC). A ring of nodes around the generator lights up and flashes a Morse-code-style rhythm. Copy the pattern by tapping and holding the matching positions. Taps are instant presses and holds end on a faint audio cue. Getting it wrong resets the puzzle, and the first attempt usually fails while the timing is still unfamiliar. On success, the center wheel locks, the antenna descends into the generator, and a fragment pops out. Hook the fragment with the Axiom Grapple and seal it. The Core of Temperance is added to your inventory as the reward.

2424 Core of Temperance is consumed as a key ingredient for unlocking Kuku Pot recipes. Handing the core to the Kuku Pot opens up additional blueprints tied to the Sanctum of Temperance track, which in turn give you access to crafted weapons and equipment that cannot be obtained any other way. Because the core is gated behind a single sanctum and a single successful Morse puzzle attempt, it is a one-time reward per playthrough and should not be sold, discarded, or traded under any circumstances.
