Detail | Information |
|---|---|
Quest Type | Faction Quest |
Faction | Hernand Commissions |
Location | Institute / Library area, Hernand |
Prerequisite | Complete the Investigation quest |
Speak with the Institute Steward to discuss the findings from your interrogations. He will quiz you with five questions about the suspects' statements.
The Steward asks about inconsistencies in the suspects' testimonies. You must select the correct answer for each question based on what you learned during the Investigation quest. Here are the correct answers:
Question | Correct Answer |
|---|---|
Question 1 (Treasurer's Statement) | Heard there was a meeting with a noble from out of town that day (1st option) |
Question 2 (Grunil's Alibi) | They were at the lab with Tarho all day, and reckon the guard's the one acting suspicious (1st option) |
Question 3 (Tarho's Activities) | While working on research with Grunil, they stopped by the library and got scolded by the librarian (2nd option) |
Question 4 (Guard Almenso's Findings) | It seems the library has records of everyone's visits, except Raphael's (2nd option) |
Question 5 (Javier's Defense) | They insist they couldn't have stolen it, since they don't know about the forbidden books (1st option) |
After providing the correct answers, the Steward realizes that one suspect's testimony contains details they should not have known. The culprit is Javier, who mentioned the ancient language in the book despite claiming ignorance of the forbidden collection. Follow the map marker to Javier's location, tackle and tie him up, then bring him to the nearby Orc Scholar to complete the quest.
Pay close attention to Question 3. The wording between the first and second options is very similar. The key difference is 'scolded' versus 'told off' by the librarian. Choose 'scolded' (2nd option).
If you select a wrong answer, you can redo the questions. However, getting them right on the first try saves time.
The culprit is always Javier regardless of your answer choices. The questions determine whether you can proceed immediately or must retry.
