Comprehensive Boarhound Puppy article with variants table, trust items, equipment, and tips

The Boarhound Puppy is a dog breed that can be tamed and registered as a pet companion in Crimson Desert. It is classified as a puppy variant found throughout settlements in Pywel. The Boarhound Puppy is the younger version of the Boarhound, one of the larger dog breeds in the game.
Like all pets in Crimson Desert, the Boarhound Puppy is obtained by building trust through petting and feeding. Once trust reaches 100, the puppy can be registered as your permanent companion. Pets follow you during exploration and automatically loot items from defeated enemies, making them useful partners for combat encounters and gathering runs.
The Boarhound Puppy comes in 9 different coat variants. Each variant is purely cosmetic and does not affect the pet's behavior or abilities.
Stray Boarhound Puppies can be found wandering settlements across Pywel. They appear in towns and villages, often near markets, town squares, and residential areas. If a puppy is not present when you arrive at a location, leave the area and return after some time to trigger a respawn.
To tame a Boarhound Puppy, approach it and interact to begin building trust. There are two ways to increase trust:
Petting: Grants +5 trust per interaction. You can pet the puppy up to 5 times per in-game day, for a maximum of +25 trust from petting alone.
Feeding: Grants variable trust depending on the item used. You can feed the puppy up to 3 times per in-game day. The puppy's favorite food is Lean Bird Meat, which grants the highest trust per feeding.
There is a daily cap on trust gained. Once trust reaches 100, set the puppy down and hold the interaction button to select the "Take in" prompt. The puppy is then permanently registered as your pet. With optimal feeding (using Lean Bird Meat for all three daily feedings plus five pettings), it is possible to reach 100 trust in a single in-game day.
The Boarhound Puppy has 9 coat variants. All variants share the same stats and abilities; the differences are purely visual.
