11Overview223+34Countess Beatrice Azerian is a senior figure of House Azerian and the rightful heir to the Azerian title and estate in Demeniss. She is the older sister of Countess Collete Azerian, the current acting head of the house, and is best known across the wider story as the swordmaster who raised Damiane after the destruction of House Spencer. Beatrice is also the catalyst that draws Damiane back into Demenissian politics and connects her personal questline to the larger conspiracy that produced the Blood Coronation.4556By the time the player meets Damiane in Chapter 3, Beatrice has already gone missing. Her last confirmed actions were a private investigation into the affairs of Grand General Bastier, and her last contact with her sister was on the night of the Blood Coronation in Pailune. Tracking down Beatrice is the spine of Damiane's personal arc.6778Role in the Main Story89910Beatrice took the orphaned Damiane in at a young age after House Spencer was destroyed and its records erased. She trained Damiane in swordsmanship and instilled a personal code of honour and righteousness, which is why Damiane's combat profile leans on bladework even though her birth family is associated with the Spencer Pistol. Her continued mentorship is also the reason Damiane is welcomed and protected by Countess Collete Azerian, Beatrice's sister, once the player reaches Demeniss.10111112Inside the political plotline, Beatrice was actively investigating Grand General Bastier and his network when she vanished. Countess Azerian later confirms that Beatrice's silence began on the same night as the Blood Coronation, and that Beatrice was the one captive Bastier wanted to handle personally. Visione memories recovered around Demeniss reveal that the wider conspiracy, including House Byron, House Marshell, and Ada Marshall of the Marshell branch, intended to hunt down and punish multiple noble houses after the coronation, and that Bastier reserved the right to pass judgment on Beatrice himself.12131314Bastier captures and imprisons Beatrice before Cliff can intervene. After the assassination of Count George Byron during Bloodied Invitation, Cliff and Damiane return to the Azerian estate and learn from Countess Azerian that Beatrice has been imprisoned. Damiane leaves the main party to track her down on her own, with Naira's help, while Cliff continues the push against Bastier alongside Duke Wells.14151516In the Chapter 8 quest "Clue", control switches to Damiane. The quest description states, "By the time you found your swordmaster, it was already too late." Damiane infiltrates the Demeniss court, descends into an underground prison, and finally locates Beatrice. The encounter resolves Beatrice's storyline within the conspiracy arc and gives Damiane the closure she has been chasing since the start of the campaign.16171718Key Relationships18191920PersonRelationshipNotesDamianeAdopted ward and studentTook Damiane in after the fall of House Spencer; trained her in swordsmanship and shaped her personal code.Countess Collete Azerian (House Azerian)Younger sisterActing head of House Azerian during Beatrice's disappearance; coordinates the search and confirms Beatrice's last contact on the night of the coronation.Grand General BastierTarget of investigation, captorSubject of Beatrice's private inquiries; imprisoned her after the Blood Coronation and held her back from the wider conspiracy purges.House SpencerConnection through DamianeBy raising Damiane, Beatrice provides one of the only surviving bridges between House Spencer's destroyed legacy and the Demeniss court.NairaTrusted Azerian operativeSent by Countess Azerian to assist Damiane during the rescue attempt described in the Clue quest.2021Trust System21222223Beatrice Azerian can be interacted with through the Trust system when she is available in the world, with greetings and gift-giving raising your standing. Her sister Collete describes hearing nothing from her since the Blood Coronation. She is the only conspirator-related captive that Bastier wanted to judge personally, which marks her as a higher-priority target for the conspiracy than the routine house purges carried out by his subordinates.Damiane's loadout reflects Beatrice's training. The melee specialism, particularly the White Wind Rapier and the Absolute Justice greatsword, can be read as her teacher's legacy, while the Spencer Pistol carries her birth-family inheritance. After the Demeniss arc, surviving co-conspirators such as Ada Marshall remain at large because the comatose King of Demeniss alone has the authority to execute a count or duke. Beatrice's fate is therefore one of the few personal-scale resolutions the player gets within an otherwise unresolved political situation.33343435See Also35363637Damiane - second playable character and Beatrice's adopted ward.House Azerian - the count's house of Demeniss; Beatrice is its rightful heir.House Spencer - Damiane's birth family, destroyed before the events of the game.Grand General Bastier - antagonist responsible for Beatrice's imprisonment. The Blood Coronation - the event that triggered Beatrice's disappearance.Bloodied Invitation - the Chapter 8 quest preceding Damiane's solo rescue mission.Characters - all characters in Crimson Desert.
