It is placed there as a pickup for players who want an alternative weapon option before heading into the encounter. Since Ludvig is an aggressive boss who fights with lightning-infused twin blades, having a spear with superior reach can be a real advantage for maintaining safe distance.2222Because the spear is found rather than purchased, there is no buy price associated with it.
