Their primary function is to provide passive Health regeneration to your mount while riding. This healing effect activates automatically and does not require any player input, making stirrups a valuable way to keep your horse alive during long journeys and mounted combat without consuming healing items.

1414 To equip stirrups, summon your horse and mount it. Open the inventory screen and switch to the horse tab (labeled with your horse's name). Navigate to the stirrups slot and equip the desired item. Stirrups remain equipped until manually replaced or until you register a new horse at a stable.

The only requirement is having the correct raw materials on hand, such as Iron Ore, Copper Ore, and animal hides.
