Levels 1 through 4 require common ores (Iron Ore, Copper Ore) and Thin Hide, while levels 5 and above additionally require Abyss Artifacts. The material quantity increases with each level, with level 10 demanding dozens of rare materials.

3636 A practical early-game strategy is to refine your champron to +4 and stop there, preserving Abyss Artifacts for critical skill tree unlocks. Later in the game, when Abyss Artifacts are more plentiful, pushing to +10 on a Legendary champron yields the maximum possible mounted Attack bonus.
