11Overview2233Abyss Link is a skill-learning resource introduced in version 2.00.00, the Crimson Desert Enhanced update, released on August 25, 2026. It sits alongside Abyss Artifacts in the skill system and exists to keep the three playable characters' skill trees from competing for the same pool of resources.4455The core rule is a mirroring one. When a character spends Abyss Artifacts to learn a skill, an equivalent number of Abyss Links is granted to the other playable characters. Each character then spends their own Abyss Links to learn their own skills. Investing in one character therefore no longer comes at the direct expense of the others.6677How Abyss Link Works8899RuleDetailSourceGranted automatically when a character uses Abyss Artifacts to learn a skill.AmountAn equivalent number to the Abyss Artifacts spent.RecipientsThe other playable characters, not the character that spent the artifacts.SpendingEach character uses their own Abyss Links to learn skills. On resetWhen a character's skill progression is reset, the Abyss Links that character used are refunded.Carry-overAbyss Links can be carried into a new game from an existing save after all main quests are complete.1010Per-Character Skill Resets11111212Abyss Link is what makes per-character resets possible. Before version 2.00.00, a reset wiped the skill trees of all playable characters at the same time, so adjusting one build meant rebuilding every build. Since the Enhanced update, skill progression can be reset individually for each character, and only that character's Abyss Links are refunded.13131414The practical effect is that experimenting with one character's build no longer disturbs the others. See How to Respec Skills for the reset procedure and Skills for the wider skill system.15151616The One-Time Reset17171818Because Abyss Link changed how skill costs are tracked, all existing skill progression was reset the first time the game was launched after updating to version 2.00.00. Every resource previously used to learn skills, including Abyss Artifacts, was refunded at that point.19192020This is a one-time migration rather than a recurring event. Players returning to a save made before the update will find their skill trees blank and their spent resources returned to them, and will need to reallocate before continuing.21212222Relationship to Other Resources23232424ResourceRoleAbyss ArtifactsThe primary skill resource. The feature becomes available after completing all main quests.
