Gameplay Systems
October 14, 2026 at 01:06 AM
Created gameplay systems page covering combat, Kibo growth and bonding, riding, housing, crafting, account level, commissions, map difficulty, modes, minigames, controls and the Chinese paid test shop
This page collects what official sources have shown of the systems in Azur Promilia. Almost all of it comes from test builds: the three Chinese tests, the Korean closed beta of May 2026 and the Japanese closed beta of July 2026. Nexon's Korean posts state that they describe a development build that may differ from the version at launch, and the Chinese test notices say the test content does not represent final quality. Nothing here should be read as a shipped feature.

A press release from October 2026 says Kibo assist players in combat, and the Korean closed beta showed a party of characters fighting together with Kibo. The developer letter posted after that test named two character lines, 파괴 계열 (destruction line) and 생존 계열 (survival line), and said the destruction line's combat experience and the survival line's performance would be improved. It also said Kibo would get a bigger presence and adjusted strength in battle.
Other combat points from the same letter: some boss and dungeon arenas were to be widened, each boss fight was to get clearer distinct mechanics, enemy placement on high-difficulty stages and attack telegraphs were to be revised, and auto targeting and targeting of large or flying enemies were to be improved. A boss respawn countdown was also planned.
Characters equip gear, and the Korean test had a recommended-equipment button that also shows where each item can be obtained. The letter also mentions 영자, an equippable item type with rarity, enhancement and job tags. Its English name has not been announced as of October 2026.
Kibo go through growth stages such as juvenile (유년기) and mature (성숙기), and their appearance, habits, talents and skills can change from stage to stage. The Korean test also had a Kibo encyclopedia (키보 도감), a Kibo hut (키보 오두막) and a Kibo formation screen. Off-color and shiny Kibo can appear in the wild, and the letter promised clearer alerts when they do.
Characters bond with Kibo through 스타링크, a Korean transliteration that reads as star link; the official English term has not been announced. 스타링크 uses cards. Basic cards can be quick-crafted, and others are made at a 공명 석대 (a resonance stone altar) that is built at the workbench and placed in housing. After the Korean test the developers said they would adjust success rates by card grade and change when each grade becomes available. Stages tied to transcendent mutant Kibo (초월 변이 키보) are covered under Modes below.
In the Korean test, riding unlocked after the main quest Chapter 1 III, in which Terara guides the player to make a saddle. Saddles for specific Kibo are crafted at the housing workbench, and the T key opens the list of mounts. Each mount has a satiety gauge; when it runs low the mount cannot sprint, and the player feeds it cooked food from the bag. After the test the developers said riding would use satiety less harshly and that players would be able to open chests, talk to NPCs and gather materials without dismounting.
The housing menu (하우징 중심부) has two Kibo jobs. Kibo assigned to work speed up production in housing, and Kibo placed on the Kibo ranch produce items needed for housing. Kibo can also be placed by selecting a building directly on the housing map.
At account level 15, players can build a lodging in the style of 샤루루 마을 at the workbench and place it in housing. That unlocks a furniture shop that takes 둥근 조가비 (round shells) as payment. Only certain characters can move in, and giving them furniture triggers interactions. The housing shop NPC 리리카 can restore stamina for all characters in use.
Gathering tools such as the stone axe and stone pickaxe are made with quick craft (the O key). Larger items, including saddles and the resonance altar, come from the housing workbench. The developer letter mentions tracking where materials can be obtained and improved gathering.
스타센스 is the account level; an English name has not been announced. It rises through quests, regional commissions, daily missions, star records (별의 기록) and Kibo 스타링크, and higher levels unlock content and open more regional commissions.
Regional commissions (지역 의뢰) cost stamina to claim rewards. A sweep gives triple rewards for triple stamina. After the Korean test the developers said that an S-rank clear would unlock auto battle on that stage.
In 새싹 골짜기 players can choose a map difficulty from the main screen or the map. Higher difficulty raises the grade of rewards from enemies and the chance of higher-grade factors and potential when performing 스타링크. Each difficulty shows a suggested account level.
The modes below are named in the Korean developer letter. Only the Korean names are official; the descriptions are summaries of the letter.
Korean Name | Description | Post-Test Changes |
|---|---|---|
헤테로 스타네스트 | Combat stages tied to transcendent mutant Kibo (초월 변이 키보); the name is a Korean transliteration | Better interface and alerts, interactions between characters and the mutant Kibo, and other ways to obtain those Kibo |
위기 토벌 | Multiplayer party boss stages | Route guidance, a better multiplayer interface, reworked buffs and new boss patterns |
보물찾기 여행 | A treasure hunt mode | Overall redesign of the mode |
키보 대전 | A Kibo battle mode | Large redesign to lower the barrier to entry and add more variety |
The letter also mentions a weekly treasure chest whose key limit was to be removed.
Minigames: 주잔카의 사다리, 땅구르미의 꿈 and 꽃의 영혼 연주. After the Korean test the developers planned easier difficulty, better guides and adjusted conditions for full-score rewards.
Cooking: cooked food restores mount satiety, and the developers planned to change the dish 우정 찹쌀떡 so that both characters and Kibo receive its buff.
Finding 우미: 우미 hide around the continent, and an official post says the feeling of being watched while exploring comes from a 우미 hiding nearby.
Fishing: official artwork on the Japanese site shows a fishing pier and a rod. As of October 2026, no fishing mechanics have been described officially.
The Japanese site says the world can be explored from the bottom of the deep sea to high in the sky. Fast travel uses star-vein nodes (성맥 노드), and after the Korean test the developers planned more nodes in better places, noting that the continent is so large that getting around was tiring. The Tab key highlights a path to the current main quest objective, and an unstuck option sits in the settings menu. See World and Regions for the places involved.
The protagonist's appearance is edited from the player card in the settings menu. The Korean test allowed changes to hair, eyes, ears, skin color, costume and gender.
The Korean test guides name Tab (navigation), M (map), Esc (menu), O (quick craft), T (mount) and N (in-game guide) on PC. Custom key bindings and better gamepad compatibility were listed as work in progress after the test. Platforms and System Requirements has more on supported devices.
The press release of October 2026 describes Azur Promilia as free-to-play. The Korean and Japanese closed betas had no paid content. The third Chinese test, 旅迹测试, switched on payments, and its refund notice names the following:
Item | Type | Detail |
|---|---|---|
星虹 | Premium currency | Refunds after launch are paid in 星虹 at 10 per yuan spent, with multipliers |
飞信订约 | Subscription | Each refund voucher adds 30 days and gives 300 星虹 at once |
普罗米利亚游记 | Pass | Paid tiers 豪华版游记 and 游记拾遗 |
Cosmetics and shop packs | Direct purchases | Bought with real money in the test |
Purchases in that test were open on PC, Android, HarmonyOS and the web store, using two mainland Chinese mobile payment services. As of October 2026, summon rates, banners and prices for other regions have not been announced. The Korean milestone page does refer to summons as rewards; see Pre-Registration and Milestone Rewards.
