CangMo Game Entertainment

CangMo Game Entertainment (成都苍墨信息科技有限公司, Chengdu Cangmo Information Technology Co., Ltd.) is a game development studio based in Chengdu, China. They are the developer and self-publisher of A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei.

History

The studio was founded in 2022 with initial investment from Hometown Interactive. At its founding, the team consisted of approximately six people. The studio's lead is Liu Qiwei (also known as Li You, or "离忧先生"), who previously developed Souls of Blades (JianPo) as an independent project.

In August 2024, Shanghai Yingche Network Technology Co. acquired a 25.8% stake in the company as part of a second funding round. The team size as of the latest public information is not confirmed, but the investment suggests expansion beyond the original six-person roster.

PlayStation China Hero Project

CangMo joined PlayStation's China Hero Project in July 2024. The program is operated by Sony Interactive Entertainment Shanghai and provides Chinese studios with development support, technical resources, and global marketing and distribution assistance. Other notable titles from the program include Black Myth: Wukong and Phantom Blade Zero.

Previous work

Before A Whisper of Fall: Jinyiwei, Liu Qiwei developed Souls of Blades (JianPo), which launched in Steam Early Access in September 2019 and reached full release in September 2021.
