11 Molly (莫莉) is the player character of Ylem's Cat. She is a young woman of the Endi people who sets out across a cooling world to find her mother, accompanied by the cat Mio.

88 Molly's mother was the seer of her tribe. She left to find the cause of the world's withering and never returned, and Molly grew up waiting for her. The disaster that opens the story, a violent heave of the planet that the Chinese text calls a turning over (翻身), split the ground and buried Molly. She was dying when a pitch-black animal nobody had seen before reached her and saved her. She named it Mio after the sound it made.

1010 Since that moment the two of them share one heartbeat, a bond the store text describes as inseparable but not always harmonious: girl and cat are not always, in its words, on the same page. Shortly afterwards the Sentinels began hunting the cat, and Molly took the road her mother had taken. The developers have said the intention is for the player to assemble the truth about her mother by exploring the world rather than by being told it in story scenes.

1414 Molly carries two weapon systems, a melee weapon and a bow, and a set of movement options including a dodge. In the demo build shown to press in August 2026, she was the only target: enemies ignored Mio entirely and put all of their attention on her. The producer has said this is deliberate for the opening chapter and is a piece of narrative foreshadowing, and that enemies later in the game will attack the cat and can shut down some of its abilities. 2020 Official screenshots show Molly as a pointed-eared young woman with dark hair streaked white, green eyes and freckles. She wears a pale wrap and a large ridged gold ornament at one ear, and carries her weapon slung across her back. When Mio is in its smallest form it travels in the hood of her garment or perched at her shoulder.
