Pioneer Playtest
October 5, 2026 at 11:32 PM
Added Pioneer schedule, access rules, countries and account requirements
The Pioneer Playtest is an announced test of March of Giants scheduled for October 7-18, 2026. It opens on October 7 at 10 AM EDT / 7 AM PDT through Steam. Test servers are in North America and Europe.
Open the March of Giants Steam page.
Choose Request Access under March of Giants Playtest.
Wait for the access notification from Steam.
Download the game from your Steam Library when the test opens.
The team plans to keep invitations open throughout the test, but may pause or hold invitations while scaling server capacity. A request does not guarantee immediate access.
Ubisoft Connect and an Ubisoft Account are required to play. Players can sign in or create an account when launching the game.
Players who participated in the September 2025 Closed Alpha are automatically invited and do not need to request access again. They will not receive a new Steam access notification at the start of the test. When the playtest opens, returning players can find the game in their Steam Library, download it and sign in with their Ubisoft account.
New playtest sign-ups are restricted to North America and the supported European countries. The announced country list is:

There is a specific exception for players outside those regions who were already granted Steam access before the regional restrictions were applied: they can still participate in this playtest. Having previously requested an invitation is different from having been granted access. Servers remain limited to North America and Europe, so players connecting from farther away may experience increased latency or connection issues.
The Pioneer Playtest supports English, French, German and Spanish. Additional languages and server support are planned for future tests.
The Pioneer Playtest has no NDA or watermark. Players may stream, record and share game content.
Completing PvP matches also contributes to the Pioneer Program, which awards Pioneer status at 1,000 Pioneer Points. See System Requirements for the current PC specifications.
