Publisher transition and studio identity
At the time of the December 2025 acquisition, Xavier Marquis was identified as Creative Director and Alex Parizeau, also named Alexandre Parizeau, as Senior Production lead.
The September 2026 shared Massive Entertainment announcement covers a broader Ubisoft portfolio including March of Giants. The responsible teams in Montréal, Paris, Sweden and Toronto operate under that brand. The announcement concerns the portfolio as a whole; the current game developer attribution is March of Giants Team.
Changes for Pioneer
The team describes expanded Soldier roles and more interaction and counterplay around Battleworks. Spaces between lanes have become more important to progression and map control, while itemization supports more specialized builds.
New Giants and updates to returning Giants accompany changes to the map, UI, visuals, animations and gameplay clarity. These are broad changes from the Closed Alpha to the announced Pioneer build.
