Overview
Ningwu (凝武, Níngwǔ, literally 'Condensed Martial') is the hero-bound signature weapon progression system in Honor of Kings: World. Each Resonance hero has a unique Ningwu weapon that is permanently tied to that character and cannot be equipped across heroes. Ningwu is one of the four pillars of Resonance power, alongside Flow Veins (流脉)Inscriptions (铭文)and equipment.
Primary Stats
Ningwu provides two primary attributes:
Base attack power: A direct multiplier on both basic-attack and skill damage. This is the dominant scaling source for most Resonances.
HP ceiling: Raises the hero's maximum HP pool for survivability.
Level Milestones
Ningwu levels from 1 to 50 at S0 launch. Each milestone grants stat bumps and unlocks new effects:
Level | Unlock |
|---|---|
Lv 1 | Initial state (base stats only) |
Lv 10 | First entry unlocks (e.g. ATK +10%, HP +500). Wave Flow breakthrough unlock point. |
Lv 20 | Quality Shift (质变点): second entry + first special effect (core passive defining combat style) |
Lv 30 | First special effect strengthens (higher trigger chance or effect values); second entry grows |
Lv 40 | Further strengthening of entries and effects |
Lv 50 | Ultimate Form: second special effect unlocks, creating dual-effect synergistic configuration |
Materials and Progression
Ningwu upgrade materials drop from daily-reset open-world bosses (with daily attempt caps) and weekly dungeon content. Community guides published at launch recommend committing to two main Resonances before account Lv 30, because upgrade materials are rate-limited and conflicts between heroes create progression walls.
stamina planning guide, Ningwu upgrades alongside Flow Veins talents are the highest-priority spend for early-game stamina. Inscriptions and equipment come later, typically after account Lv 41.
Cosmetic Skins (幻化)
Weapon skins are separate from Ningwu stats. Jialuo's Ningwu bow has a cosmetic skin 琉璃挽月 (Glazed Moonveil) unlocked at Battle Pass level 50. Other Resonances have their own Ningwu skins available through events and the Tianshang banner.
Quality Shift Mechanic

Quality Shift (质变点, Zhìbiàn Diǎn) at Lv 20 is the key Ningwu milestone. Up to Lv 19, Ningwu only awards stat bumps. At Lv 20 the weapon gains its first special effect, the core passive that defines its combat style. From Lv 30 onward, the special effect strengthens further (higher trigger chance or larger numbers) and the second entry grows. At Lv 50 the second special effect unlocks, creating the Ultimate Form's dual-effect synergistic configuration.
Players who stop at Lv 19 will feel the gap clearly. The Quality Shift is the threshold between a Ningwu that just adds raw stats and a Ningwu that genuinely defines a Resonance's identity. For players prioritizing limited materials, hitting Lv 20 on one Resonance before splitting upgrades to a second hero is the dominant pattern in current launch-window guides.

Material Strategy
Community guides published at S0 launch recommend committing to two main Resonances before account Lv 30, because upgrade materials are rate-limited and conflicts between heroes create progression walls. Ningwu upgrades alongside Flow Pathway (Vein Advancement) talents are the highest-priority spend for early-game stamina. Inscription System and equipment come later, typically after account Lv 41.
Cosmetic Ningwu skins are independent of stat tiers. The first widely-shared example is Jialuo's Glazed Moonveil (Liuli Wan Yue), obtained at Battle Pass level 50. Skin equipping does not consume Ningwu materials and does not interact with Quality Shift; the cosmetic and stat tracks run in parallel.
