Overview
Inscriptions (铭文, Míngwén) are stat-rune modifiers that boost a Resonance hero's attributes. The system is carried forward from the Honor of Kings MOBA with a HoK:World-specific loadout layer. Inscriptions are one of the four pillars of Resonance power alongside Ningwu, Flow Veins, and equipment.
Slot Structure
A single inscription page has 30 slots across three color types:
10 blue slots (hold only blue inscriptions)
10 green slots (hold only green inscriptions)
10 red slots (hold only red inscriptions)
Color restrictions are enforced: a blue-slot rune cannot be placed in a red or green slot. Each color represents a different stat category. Inscriptions can be freely reconfigured between slots of the same color.
Tiers
Inscriptions come in five grades, tiers I through V. Higher tiers grant stronger numerical values of the same stat categories. A Tier V blue rune has the same stat category as a Tier I blue rune, but with larger numbers. There is no elemental or build-shaping change between tiers.
Obtaining Inscriptions
At S0 launch, inscriptions can be obtained through:
Inscription fragments (铭文碎片) earned through gameplay; fragments can be converted into full inscriptions
Direct purchase with gold or diamonds in the inscription menu
Battle Pass and event rewards
Weekly dungeon crafting materials
Progression Priority
Per the GamerSky stamina planning guide, inscriptions are a secondary priority after Flow Veins talents and Ningwu weapons. Do NOT farm inscriptions before account Lv 41. Stamina spent on inscription materials early is more efficiently spent on talents and weapons that give stronger combat-power conversions.
Differences from the MOBA
The MOBA-style 30-slot, 3-color, 5-tier structure is preserved, but HoK:W introduces a per-Resonance loadout: players can save and swap inscription page configurations for each Resonance. This accommodates the two-Resonance hot-swap combat model where the same player may want different inscription setups for different heroes in a dual-loadout.
