Overview
Earth-Shaking Wild Wood (撼地狂木, Hàn Dì Kuáng Mù) is the main-story boss of Chapter 7 "曲径通幽" (Winding Path into the Secluded) in Honor of Kings: World's S0 season. This is the boss that pre-launch English marketing materials called the "Trembling Rage Tree." It is the first fight in the launch build that requires co-op play with an AI teammate, and it is where the game introduces alchemy-station crafting and heal-item prep as core pre-fight activities.
Fight Structure
The fight has two documented move-set states per GamerSky's walkthrough: an above-ground "standard" state where the boss uses melee slams and ranged attacks, and an underground state where it burrows and leaves only its tail exposed in the center of the arena. The state transition is triggered by posture break followed by an execution. After the tail is destroyed, the boss resurfaces and cycles its full above-ground moveset again. No third phase is documented.
Co-Op and Party Setup
Per GamerSky, the player is paired with an AI teammate via the 归流印 (Returning Flow Seal) just before the fight, and the boss's behavior is explicitly affected by the ally's presence: "BOSS战有队友,战斗期间BOSS可能会转火,并且BOSS招式也会受队友的行动影响" ("The boss fight has a teammate; during combat the boss may switch targets, and boss moves are affected by the teammate's actions"). GamerSky recommends a ranged Resonance loadout for this fight: Xi Shi, Jialuo, Wang Zhaojun, or Meng Ya.
Above-Ground Mechanics
Head-slam with debris (用头砸地掀起石块) — slams its head into the ground, knocking up stone debris. Immediately followed by a ranged 落石攻击 (falling-rock AoE) on the targeted area.
Foot-stomp AoE (脚跺地) — short-range launch attack around the boss's feet.
Dragon-cart charge (龙车) — two variants. The slow regular charge has an obvious leg-raise windup and launches anyone in its line. The red-flash variant is triggered from a head-slam and is faster, also a line AoE. Only the targeted player needs to sidestep.
Posture break + execution — after enough sustained damage the boss enters the 破势 broken-stance state and the player can land the 处决 execution finisher. The execution briefly stuns the boss and transitions it into the burrow phase.
Burrow / Tail / Poison Rain
Once the execution lands, the boss burrows underground and extends a tail from the center of the arena. The tail unleashes a wide-area sustained 毒雨 (poison rain) that damages the party. The only way to end the poison rain is to destroy the tail itself, at which point the boss resurfaces and resumes its above-ground moveset. After resurfacing, the boss also uses chained head-swing and tail-swing combos in addition to its earlier moves.
Pre-Fight Preparation
GamerSky explicitly tells players to craft extra 蜂草散 healing items at an alchemy station before the fight: "注意路边有制药台,如果药不够可以在这里制作" ("Note the alchemy table by the roadside; if you don't have enough medicine, craft it here"). This is the first main-story fight where heal-item prep is called out as essential, and it establishes the alchemy-station pattern for later fights.
Location and Lore
The fight takes place inside 幽径城 (Youjing City / Winding Path City) after the player jumps from a gate ledge into the city. Immediately after victory, a cutscene leads the party through a cave exit into an ancient mural room and then into a hidden underground space, chaining directly into the Azure Axe Forged General fight in Chapter 8. Environmental grappling (F-key 牵引) is available for traversal into and after the arena, though it is not a required combat mechanic during the fight itself.
