Overview

Victus is the 1st Sovereign and 2nd Novarch in the world of Honkai: Nexus Anima. He is a 5-Star Kardia with a Sovereign Animaster classification. A tall man with long blond hair, he is one of the most powerful beings in the setting. As a Sovereign, he governed the paired Aspects of Order and Chaos. After the Sundering split the Old World into 81 Planes, he became the Novarch of Order, governing a single Aspect.

Power and History

Victus has defeated the World-Ender seven times and destroyed it twice. This record makes him the most successful combatant against the game's recurring antagonist. Despite these victories, the World-Ender's immortality (secured through a Life-Death Contract with the Sovereign Amstradath) meant it kept returning.

The Court of Dragons

Victus presides over the Court of Dragons, though details about this institution remain limited. As the Novarch of Order, his domain in the New World concerns the maintenance of structure and law across his Plane.

Role in the Story

Victus is listed among the 15+ named Novarchs in the game's lore and is classified as a Legend rather than an Animaster. His connection to the protagonist and other characters suggests he will play a major role in the main narrative, though the full extent of his involvement is not yet clear.

Sundering Transition

When The Sundering split the Old World into 81 Planes, Victus transitioned directly from Sovereign to Novarch, becoming the 2nd Novarch with authority over Order alone. The Chaos half of his former paired Aspect went to a different Novarch, Jude, severing the unified Order-Chaos rulership that defined his pre-Sundering role. Compared to other Sovereigns who died (Darsea), vanished (Kafka), or were replaced by non-Sovereign heirs (Blade taking Strength from Kafka), Victus is one of the cleanest direct transitions in the surviving record.

Why the World-Ender Always Returned

Despite Victus defeating the World-Ender seven times and destroying them twice, the entity always came back. The reason lies in a separate arrangement called the Pact of Rebirth, struck between the World-Ender and Amstradath, the 5th Sovereign of Life and Death. The Pact granted the World-Ender a form of immortality that simple battle defeat could not overcome. Victus's record is the most successful on offense, but the structural problem required Kumyo Kyo's sealing solution, not another duel.
