Overview

Kumyo Kyo is the 4th Sovereign in the world of Honkai: Nexus Anima, governing the paired Aspects of Reality and Illusion. He appears as a young blond man who carries a parasol. Community members have noted his visual resemblance to Aether, the male Traveler from Genshin Impact, though no narrative connection has been confirmed.

Relationship with Darsea

Kumyo Kyo is the elder brother of Darsea, the 10th Sovereign of Memory and Oblivion. After the Sundering shattered the Old World, he made a promise to his younger sister. The nature of this promise is tied to his most consequential act.

Sealing the World-Ender

Kumyo Kyo fulfilled his promise to Darsea by sealing the World-Ender within the Plane of Illusion. This act required a tremendous personal sacrifice, and he disappeared afterward. His current whereabouts are unknown.

The sealing was necessary because the World-Ender had gained immortality through a Life-Death Contract with the Sovereign Amstradath, making it impossible to destroy permanently. Even Victus, who had defeated the World-Ender seven times, could not eliminate it for good. Kumyo Kyo's solution of imprisonment within the Plane of Illusion was the only effective long-term containment.
